Alan Prosser

"Casual acquaintance might have you wondering if this really is the same guy who power riffs Oysterband - but yes, this Alan Prosser is one and the same. More years ago than he may care to remember and in another group entirely (whisper Fi*%£!rs Dr*m), the esteemed Karl Dallas had him marked down; "His thoughtful guitar playing is worth traveling miles to hear" .fROOTS

Pete Coe

"If you're talking about the British folk club scene of the 1970s, then the name of Pete Coe will inevitably loom large. And if you're talking about the folk club scene of the '80s it'll loom even larger. It's prominent in the '90s too and the way things are shaping up it's a name that will continue to be synonymous with the grass roots scene through the early 2000s. Singer, songwriter, melodeon, banjo, dulcimer and bouzouki player, bandleader, arranger, broadcaster, dance caller, teacher, step dancer, entrepreneur, folk club organiser, record label boss, sallow-faced wit, raconteur and all-round good guy, Pete Coe in many ways represents the backbone of the modem folk revival. He's been a key member of numerous significant outfits across three decades, including the much-loved duo with his then wife Chris, the wondrous dance outfit New Victory Band, folk 'supergroup' Bandoggs and political trailblazers Red Shift" BBC Colin Irwin

Gina Le Faux

Gina Le Faux is one of the great fiddle players on the British folk/roots music scene. She is an international performer and has toured extensively in Britain, Europe and the USA. Gina also plays Viola and Mandolin and she is an exceptional singer and interpreter of songs old and new. A recent performance was described as ”White Soul” and her guitar playing was described as “Spellbinding”.

Gina has played a number of times at the Cabaret as solo and with Dave Swarbrick. Each time playing to a packed house.

A not to be missed concert from one of the great fiddle players.

Ewan McLennan

Ewan’s singing and playing covers the broad range folk music has to offer; from traditional ballads sung unaccompanied, to dance tunes or melancholic airs arranged for the guitar, and with a strong emphasis on his own contemporary songwriting that follows in the folk tradition.

Ewan did a great support spot for Archie Fisher at the Cabaret in June so by popular demand we asked him back to headline a night for us.
